NewCAJE NEW VOICES SONG COMPETITION

NewCAJE is building an organization of Jewish educators for the 21st Century.  This year, NewCAJE is embarking on an important and exciting task.  NewCAJE New Voices seeks to discover and promote music by young Jewish songwriters under 42 whose songs teach Jewish values or concepts and are appropriate for use in an educational setting.

A panel of experts will review submissions based on the following criteria:

·      Performance

·      Songwriting

·      Appropriateness of Content

·      Accessibility for Educators

·      Overall enjoyment/listenability

Winning songs will be included on a NewCAJE New Voices CD, which will be marketed and sold as a resource for Jewish educators worldwide. Winners will receive a written review of their tune by an established Jewish music artist, Rabbi, Cantor or Educator. In addition, winning artists will be invited to perform his or her music at the NewCAJE conference this year to the entire NewCAJE community.  Winning songs will also be featured on the NewCAJE website and online Journal.

This program is in conjunction with the NewCAJE Young Professionals track, in which ONE HUNDRED of the best and brightest young Jewish professionals from all fields of Jewish Education will learn together at the NewCAJE conference,  July 31 - August 4 2011 in Greensboro, NC.  See https://newcaje.webnode.com/young-professionals/ for details.
